Operations Manager- Regional Distribution Centers | Otis Elevator Co/United Technologies | Bloomington, IN

Position will be responsible for providing oversight to multiple 3 PL
operated distribution centers. In addition to normal operations,
individual candidate will be cohesive liaison by combining
transportation knowledge with operational best practices to provide
service excellence and transportation optimization.
Position will have responsibility for SCL warehouse operations network
across North America currently consisting of 5 RDC's including
responsibilities for new facility start ups and general operational
oversight.
- Monitor and measure operational / performance metrics to contractual
requirements and reports weekly.
- Review RDC Metrics with 3PL providers and establish programs for
improvement in areas relating to density, route optimization,
operational effectiveness, claims reduction etc.
- Maintain metrics reports and validate with accounting on implemented
Vs realized savings
- ensure 3pl providers are compliant with training requirements for
C-TPAT, Export Regulation, ISPM requirements etc. Utilize supply base
for resources in expertise in training and compliance.
- Work in unison with transportation management and TMS provider to
provide lowest landed cost and ideal lane optimization for both
dedicated fleet and purchased transportation.
- Work with department management staff to determine optimal warehouse
locations and facility sizes.
- Participate in new project planning and implementation meetings &
disseminate information requirements to proper logistics cells i.e.
Compliance, Transportation Management, etc...
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience required.
- 7 + years operational experience preferably in logistics industry.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer literacy & Working capability with PC applications (Spreadsheets and Word Processing)
- Working knowledge of transportation modeling software applications
preferred
